SWQAC meetings are open to the public, and are scheduled for the first Friday of even months throughout the year, unless postponed due to weather or holidays. They take place at the Maryland Department of the Environment, 1800 Washington Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21230. During these meetings, designees of the Secretaries of the Departments of the Environment and Natural Resources provide regular updates of ongoing departmental activities. Click here for directions.

SWQAC subcommittee meetings are open to the public and a citizen need not be an appointed SWQAC member to participate. Subcommittees discuss issues of statewide importance and then bring their findings and recommendations before the next full SWQAC meeting for decision and action. SWQAC's current subcommittees are:
- Watershed Restoration & Protection
- Water Resource Management & Conservation
- Wastewater
